Caught in God's Greenhouse: NC Pastor and Son Arrested for Running Marijuana Grow at Church



Former Pastor and Son Charged with Growing Marijuana at Church in Davidson County North Carolina, in a shocking turn of events, the former pastor and his son have been arrested and charged with cultivating marijuana at the very church where the pastor used to preach. The illicit operation was discovered by authorities who acted swiftly to apprehend the suspects.


Two men, Josh Price (50) and Matthew Price (28) have been arrested for possession and distribution of illicit drugs. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation that uncovered a stash of 13 pounds of marijuana and 20 plants, along with other unidentified narcotics. The illegal substances were found at the former Southside Baptist Church, which has been closed since the COVID-19 outbreak.

Josh Price, who has been staying in the fellowship hall behind the church, has been found growing marijuana during the investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office.


Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at 1014 Floyd Church Road on May 28th. Officers discovered a significant amount of marijuana, along with 32 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and 41 THC vape pens. Additionally, investigators uncovered 2 pounds of marijuana wax, a potent concentrated form of THC, as well as grow lights, potting soil, fertilizer, and growing bins.

The duo was charged with multiple drug-related felonies including manufacturing and trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to sell a Schedule VI controlled substance (THC wax), maintaining three homes for drug distribution, possession with intent to sell a Schedule I controlled substance (psilocybin mushrooms), and conspiring to traffic marijuana. They were also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.


Two individuals have been assigned a bond of $20,000 secured and are scheduled for an initial court appearance on July 25. Stay tuned for further updates.
