Amite City, La - Just over a week ago the Amite City PD were called to a home for a report of armed robbery. The victim, a 15-year-old was able to identify one of the suspects in the armed robbery to the local police.
Local law enforcement and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office began to watch the suspect's
home until enough information was gathered to issue a warrant.
It was just over a week since the investigation started before the warrant was issued, and law enforcement entered the home located on the 300 block of Gullet St.
Authorities recovered three stolen pistols, an AR-15-style rifle, two Draco-style rifles, several magazines and ammunition, and about two ounces of cannabis.
The 18-year-old suspect, Jamarcus Cyprian, was arrested without incident and faces numerous charges including possession of a stolen firearm, possession of stolen items, armed robbery, illegal use of a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon while in possession of a CDS.
Working together the ACPD and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office was able to remove these guns from the streets before anyone could be seriously injured.
