Johnny Depp's Bodyguard Says Cocaine and Weed Make Pirates of the Caribbean star "Chill"

During a virtual testimony in the trial between Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard's bodyguard Travis McGivern was asked about how different substances would affect him. He stated that when using marijuana or cocaine his demeanor changed.

McGivern said during his virtual testimony he worked as Depp's personal security guard for several years and first met Heard in 2013. When asked about the actor's demeanor when using marijuana, McGiver said "Chill...just super mellow." However, regarding cocaine use, he had this to say: 'the same..I feel like it levels him out'.

Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife for an op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post, which discussed experiences of domestic violence during their marriage. While he never named her victims (though there are some who believe that this could have been referring to him), Johnny claims that it damaged his career as an actor and now wants $50M dollars which is less than what's being asked by Heard who is countersuing for $100 million.

One of Depp's security guards also testified and spoke about the actor’s use of different substances, such as marijuana and alcohol. "He has a very high tolerance for any substance," said Malcolm Connolly. Connolly also stated that "Jack Sparrow is more drunk than Johnny Depp."

McGivern spoke about the times he witnessed verbal altercations between Depp and Heard, as well as incidents where he saw her spit on him or throw a can of Redbull at his head. "They were super loving, happy and then the next night they could argue"

McGivern's continued testimony, "At that point, in the corner of my eye, I saw a fist and an arm come across my right shoulder...I heard and saw a closed fist contact Mr. Depp on the left side of his face."
