Although athletes have been using CBD up to the competition, they cannot bring it to Japan given the regulatory environment on international borders. They cannot bring products like gummies and tropical sticks to release the stress and strain of competing.

Most of the elite athletes are being open to their use of cannabis products to get them prepared for the Tokyo Olympics.

One of them is Megan Rapinoe, Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Soccer Women’s National team star. She put CBD in her training routine. She is open that she gets her products from Mendi. Mendy, by the way, is founded by her sister Rachael Rapinoe.

Mendi’s founders started a brand of hemp-derived cannabidiol products that provide athletes with natural solutions and help them recover faster and better. In effect, they perform at their best. Mendi formed a team of top athletes as brand ambassadors. Even more, the company hopes to tap into consumers seeking a more natural approach to health and wellness.

Rachael Rapinoe said that they believe there is a movement and people who want healthier alternative medications. They do not want what typically has been prescribed like over-the-counter meds, opiates, sleeping pills, and various tools to help with stress and anxiety. This is the reason they want to give the healthiest option to stay on top of their game longer.

Mendi’s team of athlete ambassadors includes hurdler Devon Allen, softball outfielder Hayley McCleney and WNBA champion, and four-time Olympic gold medalist Sue Bird who is engaged to be married to Megan. Megan believes that marijuana, THC, and CBD be available to athletes in many jurisdictions.
